Drew Hunkins:

Be on the correct side of history, now is the time.

If you can get to any one of the various 'Occupy Wall Street' protests, please do it. They will be held across the United States in just about every major and medium sized city and we need people in the streets, parks and public plazas. Turnout's crucial, enough is enough.

People are at the breaking point and they've finally had it. The parasitic financial elite, the Wall Street oligarchs and the corporate plutocrats have no one to blame but themselves. They've robbed us blind, they've plundered state treasuries, they've propagandized us with junk mass media, they've paid too many of us miserly wages, while forcing virtually all of us to live in perpetual debt peonage, a day of reckoning is now at hand.

Please attend any 'Occupy Wall Street' protest you can find. The more people who show up the faster we can galvanize the revolt into some substantive populist change. Of course the mainstream media (Disney, News Corp., etc.) will attempt to discredit this burgeoning progressive movement by mocking, ridiculing and disparaging various activists, attendees, spokespersons and intellectuals who are down for the cause.

Be on the correct side of history by battling back against the top fraction of 1% of the population who don't give a rip about you, your friends, family, children, public schools, the environment, safe and humane working conditions, family supporting wages or decent benefits. All that matters to the super rich ruling class, the Wall Street speculators, the hedge fund managers and the investment bankers, their overriding concern above everything else, is quarterly profit statements and fattening their portfolios, period. Nothing is ever enough for them, they want it all at whatever social cost; you, your family, and your future be damned.

Now is the time.

Oh, of course remember that Mark Belling, the $2 million per year talkshow host who snorts cocaine off hookers' breasts in Victor's bathrooms; and Charlie Sykes, the serial adulterer who makes $1 million per year; and Rush Limbaugh, the $30 million per year drug addict who forces his maid to the streets to score his Oxy and heroin; all of these blowhards will denigrate, downplay, mock and ridicule the 'Occupy' movement every step of the way.

Grisly Bear:

your are about as intelligent as a monkey trained to push buttons seeing as you blame people whose lives you know nothing about and get facts wrong all along the way. have fun making a fool of yourself. some manual labor would probably do you good, maybe the military.

I see the website, I see the things on the news, I hear about people going to check it out... but looking at this webpage has me at a loss. What is the point here? Why should I be in the streets?

Dean:

Do you really want our cities to burn? Because if Greece is your model for reform, then just keep it up and watch out as real "anti"-americans who are just waiting for a vehicle to implement their goal of creating chaos across the country take action .And you will be culpable.

Danielle:

I am one of the 99%. I am a stay at home mom, but at this point it is not by choice. My husband is a Disabled American Veteran, and between his treatment and a young baby, I could not work for a while. Well, now no one will hire me because of the way I look and the lapse in my work history. I would be more than happy to be in that protest with my three year old son, if we still lived in Milwaukee. Too many people are protesting the wrong things. We saw protesters in downtown Stevens Point today that were protesting the war, which if approached inthe right way I agree with. However, only one of them was actually a Veteran, and they had signs that said things such as: "War is Terrorism." I will tell you right now, it made my husband, the disabled vet, very mad. But these people can't take time out of their lives to protest for vets to get their dues, or teachers who educate our children. What about the nurses who save lives every day? What about that mechanic who makes sure those fancy cars are safe, but still can't afford to feed his children? Or those people who make sure that those stores people buy their groceries are in working order, just to have people look down their noses at them while they try to figure out how they are going to pay health bills? People need to pay attention to the true goings-on in this country and not just what the biased news shows feed them.

Sorry your husband is disabled. Thanks for his service. I have a bone to pick, however. You say being a stay at home isn't a choice, but it is. You chose to have children. People in the country make decisions everyday, but few want to accept the results of those decisions.

Except for the staged rally on the 15th, occupy Milwaukee seems to be running with it's tail between it's legs; unlike the rest of the active cities who have some daily exercise of free speech.

Robert O Martin:

Was the rally a onetime, feel good exercise? Change won't come about with just one exercise. Why are no furthur events being posted on your site?

I went to Madison this weekend and missed the Milwaukee march. This is not a local thing or a national thing; it is an international movement. Hundreds of thousands of people are tired of the top 20% having all the control. Even the mainstream media, which is owned by six corporations, is recognizing the inequity between the super-rich and everyone else.

In Nazi Germany, most of the people sat back and watched as the SS rounded up Communists, Catholics, Blacks, and Jews. No one wanted to get involved. No one wanted to take a stand. I lived in Germany and talked to people who were ashamed of their apathy.

Now, the United States has an opportunity to either sit on the couch or stand up to multinational corporate greed. The Egyptians overthrew their dictator of 42 years, who had amassed a $70 Billion fortune. Now, it is time for the US to get on board and topple the Billionaires in this country who are buying politicians, judges, and everything else.

The momentum is growing. If you chose to ignore or resist it, it will roll over you and you will wonder what happened. Get involved.

Veronica:

Please do not compare "corporate greed" (in other words, earning income) to the haulocaust. They are not comparable.
